Things I Read

Last month I read Understanding Baptism by Bobby Jamieson with the guys in the Training Year. It's a short and very accessible resource that covers both the positive explanation of what baptism is and why it's so important, while also dealing clearly with why infant baptism isn't legitimate. It's a great little book for anyone wanting to get a better handle on the issues.

Things I Listened to

I recently listened to "On Congregationalism" from the Pastor's Talk podcast. I thought this was a good resource, particularly for our church members, to grasp the biblical and theological rationale for how we practice church governance. Understanding why we operate the way we do is key to loving and serving our church well.

Things I Thought

I've been reflecting on sanctification recently. It's not an event; it's a journey. And it's a journey we don't conclude in this life—we all die somewhere on the way. May the Lord help us to be humble without despairing. We know that Christ is victorious and will not abandon us.
