Things I Read
As a staff, we recently read C.S. Lewis' famous introduction to Athanasius' On the Incarnation. It is a wonderful and powerful read that only takes about 30 minutes. Many pastors I know call it one of the most impactful essays they've ever read.
Things I Listened To
The ACBC (Association of Certified Biblical Counselors) podcast continues to be so helpful. As I listen, I often find myself thinking, "I wish my entire church could hear this." Two recent episodes I listened to are:
Episode 498, "Scripture Memory for All of Life": I would recommend this episode to all Christians; it offers such practical encouragement for prioritizing the Word.
Episode 475, "Critical Issues in Biblical Counseling": I'd recommend this as a good introduction to where the dividing lines are between true biblical counseling and integrationist counseling.
Things I Watched
Inspired by our recent study in Colossians 1, I went back and watched a small portion of a documentary about how the gospel reached the Yembi Yembi people (a remote tribe in Papua New Guinea). If you watch all 30 minutes, I assure you, you will have tears in your eyes.
Things I Thought
I've been reflecting on Luke 15, and how three times the text mentions the joy before God when a sinner repents. What an amazing thought—we have a God who delights in saving sinners! The text says: "Just so, I tell you, there is joy before the angels of God over one sinner who repents" (Lk. 15:10).
