Making More Disciples (2 Years Later)

It’s been 25 months - just over two years - since we launched our Making (More) Disciples Capital Campaign. In the summer of 2023 as a church we decided to begin working toward expanding our building.

Two years later, we have much to praise God for - over a million dollars given, countless expressions of support - and all of this, frankly, without putting much effort into fundraising. As we round the corner and come to the end of 2025, we are going to talk about this a little more than we have in the past. Here’s why:

First, in the two years since we’ve begun this campaign, we know there are many who weren’t here when we launched it. They didn’t see the cool video we made, they didn’t hear about “purchasing chairs,” or making pledges. We want to catch them up and help to understand why we think expanding our sanctuary is a good idea.

Second, since our campaign has caused us to look more closely at giving, we’ve become aware of our need to help people think through biblical principles related to giving and generosity. We have lots of new Christians, and many young families, and often in these stages, money is tight, bills are high - and they could use some help managing finances. We want to help.

So because of so many new people and because of our responsibility to shepherd the saints in this practical area of life, in the coming months, we will be doing our best to communicate more about these things.

We say this up front so it doesn’t feel like it’s coming out of nowhere. There will be articles on the website and podcasts. In November we’ll take a two week break from Genesis and have a couple sermons on our mission as a church as well as biblical stewardship. Lord willing, in the New Year, we’ll have a Core Seminar to do a deep dive on biblical finances. All of this to shepherd our church toward faithful stewardship as we pursue the completion of our Making (More) Disciples Building project.

This is an exciting journey we’re on together, and we trust the Lord every step of the way. Please pray for the Lord’s provision.
