Membership Matters

If the Bible is the cornerstone of our church, then membership is the cement that holds us all together. Both Christ and Paul point us toward membership for our encouragement, our protection, and our instruction. All so that we might live faithful Christian lives that are committed to Christ and His people. We aim to fulfill this vision for church membership through the following process:

Membership Matters Class

All prospective members attend our five week membership class. The class is aimed at helping prospective members understand why we believe church membership to be biblical and how we live as a committed body of believers in Christ’s local church. The class covers our church’s history, place in God’s redemptive plan, the mission of the Church, biblical reasons for church membership, our philosophy of ministry, and more.

The next Membership Matters class will start on September 8th and will be on Friday at 6pm-9pm and Saturday at 9am-12pm. Sign up for class at the top of the page.

Membership Application & Interview

Upon completion of all five weeks of membership class, prospective members are encouraged, but not obligated, to prayerfully fill out a membership application and schedule a membership interview with an elder.

Elder Recommendation

At a regularly scheduled elders’ meeting the interviewing elder will review the applicant’s testimony with the other elders. Upon receiving their collective approval, the candidate’s application proceeds to the next step: congregational affirmation.

Congregational Affirmation

During our every-other-month members meetings, each pastor who conducted an interview briefly describes how the applicants, who are desiring to be admitted to membership, have come to know the Lord. Questions are fielded, a vote is taken, and with a majority secured, candidates are admitted into membership.

Sunday Morning Welcome

Upon being affirmed by the church membership, new members are be “welcomed” into membership at the end of a regular Sunday morning worship service.
