Things I Read

I'm slowly reading The Ministry of Small Things: Wisdom for Those Who Serve the Church by Reuben Bredenhof, Spurgeon and the Poor: How the Gospel Compels Christian Social Concern by Alex DiPrima, and Iron Sharpens Iron: Friendship and the Grace of God by Michael Haykin.

Things I Listened To

We often play The Corner Room in our house. It's Scripture set to music, and usually the music is pretty good. You end up memorizing Scripture without really trying!

Things I Watched

Who remembers that show called The Dog Whisperer with Caesar Milan? When I was sick last week I watched a few episodes. Now I like to remind my kids to be "pack leader" when they're handling Murphy, our puppy.

Things I Thought

I've been thinking about the La Sierra Baptist Church revitalization. The whole thing is a mix of sadness and joy. We are going to feel the hurt of sending away some of our most precious friends, while also experiencing the joy of watching the Lord use us to care for the precious saints of La Sierra. I've been thinking about it a lot lately. Please, pray!

Quotes to Ponder

“All theology is spirituality. If our theology does not quicken the conscience and soften the heart, it actually hardens both; if it does not encourage the commitment of faith, it reinforces the detachment of unbelief; if it fails to promote humility, it inevitably feeds pride.” — JI Packer
