Things I Read
New forms of gambling and betting seem to have sprouted up around us the last few years. Many Christians are not aware of how foolish and destructive sports betting is. I had not heard about "prediction markets" until reading this article. Church, don't get involved in this stuff.
Things I Listened To
Started listening to this Pastors' Talk episode where they interview Matthew Bingham about his new book, A Heart Aflame for God. Haven't gotten this one, but plan to read it in 2027.
Things I Watched
I mentioned this in my Core Seminar on evangelism. These two short documentaries about how the gospel broke into remote tribes are remarkable. Get some tissues.
Things I Thought
I preached at a Men's Retreat last weekend on "Biblical Church Growth" from Ephesians 4:11-16. I did a five part series on this here at Grace Rancho back in 2023. I have been reflecting on how important it is for us all to remember that it is the job of the leaders to "equip the saints for the work of ministry." Church, the ministry is yours to do!
